From Success To Success
The Auris was essentially the hatchback version of the Toyota Corolla. After spending over forty years as one of the world’s most popular vehicles, it was interesting to see that changing the name to Auris didn’t affect its popularity. It was designed at Toyota’s European design centre, ED2 in southern France. It was awarded a five star cabin safety rating during the EuroNCAP safety tests.
The Hybrid Auris was the first ever mass-produced Hybrid to be manufactured in Europe. Despite sharing the same power train and batteries as the Prius, Toyota has made the Auris cheaper. With a combined fuel economy that exceeds 70mpg, we can see it proving a hit with the UK’s motoring public.
