I am not one for leaving reviews but credit where credit is due.... I scrapped my car with Silverlake who not only offered £100 or so more than others they were also really local. Really quick and easy to do. Hours later (about 1750 on a Friday!)I was missing some keys which I suspected had slipped under the seat. Paul the site manager couldn't have been more helpful - he checked there and then but the car was inaccessible and took my details and promised to call back Saturday morning which is exactly what he did, there was even an offer to post them. Top service, thanks!

I advise you to avoid this company. I had a pedestrian airbag error in my Volvo. I brought them an airbag sensor to reset the data. After installation, the problem still remained. I read the errors and passed them on. They found that the cables or the airbag connector were damaged. They boast that they have 20 years of experience, but they have no knowledge about cars. It turned out that the money was taken for a data reset module that had no errors because there is a separate module for this airbag ⛔️⛔️⛔️

The invoice even states black! Then, they won’t issue a refund until the part is collected by a courier, and back at their establishment. The courier left the item abandoned on my driveway for any passers by to help themselves to. So now, in order to get the refund, I have to harbour a car bonnet somewhere in my house, until they advise it will be collected. And wait for it to be returned to them safely! Not to mention the fact they don’t even have the part I requested in the first place. Absolutely shocking. Avoid this garage like the plague!

I bought and payed for an ariel after going down to them to get it myself only to find that they didn't have my part on the, pick it yourself, after being told they did. They only had in in the full service. Even better I thought, I don't have to do it myself. it didn't turn up the next day when it was suppose to after paying £10 delivery. Tried to get through to them for one and a half hours being 3rd in the queue for all that Time. ( how can that be possible)Needles to say it went passed 6 o clock when they closed...No call from them during the day to let me know if there was a problem, I heard nothing at all. Take your money (as they should) quick enough but not quick enough to let you know if a problem has arisen during the day.

Have visited several times and never had a great experience. I go down there because on their website it lists a car in the self service yard with the parts you want available. Then told that it’s not actually there anymore or I find the parts have actually been taken. If you phone up there’s long wait times and they were trying to tell me they don’t have any matching cars in stock when I’m looking at the website and can see two. The pricing for the majority of the parts are way too expensive. A set of door cards and seats for a Mitsubishi Carisma was near enough £300. In another local scrapyard it was £80. Exactly the same. Parts are normally cheaper on eBay and that includes shipping and not having to take them off yourself.

I was desperate for Honda Civic drivers seat. Silver lake answered my request very quickly. They couldn’t do enough to help me out. They were the only place I could get one, well apart from Honda who wanted £895 Car seat was bit grotty and dirty, but they sent me photos to show what condition it was in. They cleaned it as best as they could and transported it to my garage that day. Couldn’t thank them enough. Would definitely recommend them. First class service.

My partner called to ask if they had a part for a vitara,the guy on the phone was extremely helpful and assured my partner they did. My partner jumped straight in the car travelling 40 minutes down the road to find they didn't have what he needed!!!! When my partner spoke to the guy he was then quite rude about the situation. I feel this is absolutely disgusting and extremely poor service!

I thought it was going to be impossible! And payment was swift with minimal fuss, cannot recommend highly enough!
