One Of The First Superminis
The Nissan Micra has been in production since 1982. Nissan produced the vehicle to compete with the Toyota Starlet and Honda City. There have been four generations since its birth, and countless facelifts and updates. The newest Generation is the first to be built in America, despite not being sold there. Its popularity has led to it being rebadged for other markets. In India the Micra is sold as the Renault Pulse.
Not Just Any Old Turbo
Power might not be the first thing that springs to mind when you think of the Micra, but in 1988 Nissan released the Micra Super Turbo. This catchy name was because the 930cc engine was supercharged and turbocharged. The limited edition model still holds the record as the fastest production Micra in its long history, with a 0-62 time of 7.7 seconds and 15.5 seconds recorded to complete a quarter mile.
