Natural Progression

The MG TF replaced the MG F in 2002. It featured many updates to its design, including opting for a traditional suspension setup over the previous models HydraGas system. The engine produced more power and the looks were improved, but despite the improvements the MG TF still suffered a few common problems. Production of the model was stopped in 2005 when MG Rover collapsed.

The K-Series Curse

The K-Series engine was used in many Rover models, but had gained a reputation for developing faults, particularly the head gasket. The combination of an unreliable engine and a couple of other issues plagued the MG TF, although it did achieve decent sales figures still. A replacement head gasket was developed that dramatically reduced the chances of failure.
