A Modern Crossover
Many Jeep models are longstanding. Both the Wrangler and the Cherokee have been going for many years. This makes the Patriot, released in 2007, very new by Jeep’s standards. This entry level Jeep was one of the cheapest crossovers on the market, and was Jeep’s own cheapest model until the introduction of the Renegade in 2015. The UK model comes with a 2.0L VW Diesel engine and a manual 6-speed gearbox.
Award Winning Patriot
In the year of its introduction the Patriot’s more modern design won it the 2007 Green 4x4 of the year award. The following year it also won the Best 4x4 in the UK award. Jeep’s Freedom Drive system makes the Patriot one of the most capable off-roaders in its class. The continuously variable transmission gives it a clear advantage over vehicles using a more traditional two-speed gearbox with high and low ratios.
