At one point Jaguar was an ailing car manufacturer, but with each change of ownership the company has gotten stronger. From the new models introduced under Ford, to the critically acclaimed new models currently being rolled off the production line, they are growing in popularity. The release of the new coupe and the teasers for upcoming models all mean the future looks bright for Jaguar under the stewardship of Tata motors.
Perhaps one of their most successful recent models was the XF. Not only was it praised by motoring press throughout the land; it also won a whole host of awards, and came top of many customer reliability polls. Even as the first models have aged the reliability has remained excellent. It was the first model to depart from the retro look, and dragged Jaguar right into a strong position against the more common German competition with which they compete. Although owned by Tata Motors, Jaguar is still headquartered in Whitley, Coventry. Being a luxury make means repairs can be at a premium.
In Jaguar’s Own Words… ‘Jaguar is as dynamic as our name and logo suggest. We’ve always believed that a car is the closest thing you can create to something that is alive. Find out more about our award-winning approach to designing and building cars and what makes them as alive as you are.’
In Our Words… Jaguar have had a bit of a rocky time, but in recent years they seem to be coming really good, and the current and future models are the most exciting we have seen from them for decades.
Jaguar Maintenance… Jaguar has really upped their game in recent years, with their reputation constantly on the up in regards to reliability. This reputation can come at a premium though, meaning maintenance can be expensive.
Interesting Jaguar Fact… Jaguar’s original name was also an animal, but maybe not quite as dynamic as the Jaguar. When they first started out they made sidecars, and their name was Swallow Sidecar Company.

I bought my Jaguar as a bit of a project car so I am expecting repairs and faults. So far its had a new door lock front passenger side, and refilled the air conditioning. Have just bought replacement headlights because the adjusters have broken and the lens are starting to mist up.(potential mot fail). Otherwise loving the smooth V6 power and long distance cruising potential.

Had car since 2009 - generally OK but not spectacular as the adverts would have you believe. Looking over shoulder to the right at angled junctions not easy as all you see is door pillar. Screen operation, in my view, is dangerous as you have to take your eyes off the road and look down to find the correct button to press.
