A Marmite Car
The Multipla has quirky styling that divided the motoring public. People tended to either love or hate the bug eyed family car. The Multipla is built on the same base as the Fiat Brava, but the similarities end there. The actual design is from the Museum of Modern Art in New York, who held a design show called Different Roads, Vehicles For The Next Century.
Despite the mixed feelings it induced it won the Top Gear Magazine Family Car of the Year for four years running, as well as the Top Gear car of the year in 1999. Despite the boldness of the original Fiat eventually caved in to the sales figures, and in 2004 released a much more conventionally styled second generation Multipla.
