Grande Punto, The Punto Evolved

Despite the name sounding like the Grande Punto is a bigger version of the Punto, it was a natural evolution of the Punto model, and was still a supermini. It shares many of the traits of its predecessor, and Fiat seemed to change the name as much for a refresh as anything else. They Grande Punto name was introduced in 2005 and stayed in use until 2012.

Make Your Mind Up

Despite renaming the Punto in 2005, it wasn’t long before Fiat started messing around with the model names again. At the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show they released a facelift version of the Grande Punto, except the new look was also accompanied by a new badge, the Punto Evolution. After a couple of years of the Grande Punto and Punto Evolution badges being sold side by side, Fiat eventually gave up and decided the original name was the best.
