The C3, along with the smaller C2, was part of the replacement for the much-loved Saxo. It was first introduced in 2002 and benefitted from a minor facelift in 2007. A complete new generation was launched in 2009. This second generation Citroen C3 also had a facelift in 2013 and this is still available today. The newer models also feature a panoramic windscreen.
A Shared Platform
As Citroen are part of the PSA group, the underpinnings of the C3 were also used for the Peugeot 1007. Many of the parts and components used on the C3 can also be found on the Peugeot 206. Combining some parts and platforms in this way helps to keep the manufacturing costs down, which should hopefully also save the customer money. It also means many parts are interchangeable between models, and are therefore easier to source.
