Window regulators are one of the most commonly used parts on a motor vehicle, generating the power from behind the door panel to raise or lower the glass. Some window regulators are manual, most are electric, but without them getting some fresh air would be hard work.
If your windows are not operating as they should, the problem may not actually be the window regulator. Window motor failure, snapped cable or a faulty window switch may be the cause.
Eventually like all electrical components, window regulators will reach the end of it’s life and need replacing. If you have checked all these potential factors and your windows are still not functioning then it is most likely the window regulator will need replacing.
